Settlement!!!!
Yes thats right, today was a pretty big day in the build, we trekked out to Warwick farm and handed over our last cheque, in exchange we got a basket of goodies and a set of keys, well actually a lot of keys, around 44 of them to be exact, although only 4 different ones.....
Of course after collecting the keys we promptly headed home and into our new house, still have a few things internally to be finished, flooring and appliance install, but its officially ours now!
So I took my SLR to the house and took a few pre-clean/finished photos of the house.
Told you there were alot of keys!!
The house, all dressed up with no-one moving in yet...
The wife, all excited to use the keys for the first time.
The kitchen, with glass splash back, just waiting on the shiny new appliances.
Family room with yet to be polished Blackbutt flooring.
Entrance hall, love that door.
Kids room, will look heaps better once the carpet goes in.
Master ensuite, looking good.
Master Bed, almost ready for the new King size AH Beard bed.....
Rear of the house, can't look at the backyard jungle.
Alfresco, just waiting for the rear deck to finish it off.
So a few things are needed to finish the house off obviously, and before we move in the drive and rear deck will be completed, but that should all happen before the end of May, finger crossed it's an early June move for us!

Last few days
So just a quick no pic update, we will be heading over to the house on Friday for our pre-handover inspection, the house is almost complete, the timber flooring is in, just needs sanding and there are only touch up finishes required.
We are really looking forward to getting the major exterior work completed so we can finally move in!

Lockup done, practical completion here we come!
So I've been slack and busy as hell recently so the blog hasn't had any real attention paid to it.
So here is the update since December. The house has come along very well, the roof was finished and a partial colour completed on the exterior (second colour and final touchup to occur later I guess). Then in mid Feb there appeared the wiring and then insulation and shortly there after the platerers were on site. Amazingly it took less than 2 days for the team of 7 to do the whole house, now thats efficient for you.
At the start of this week the carpenter appeared on site and we met with him on Thursday morning first thing to site the front door lock and had a look around. Wow the kitchen was almost complete and most internal doors were on, he said they would be finished by next Wednesday and then the tilers would start.
Very happy with the progress, considering the contracted period ends on 25 May and the progress in the last two weeks I'd have to say they appear to be ahead of schedule which is great, now if only they can keep it up!

Brickwork complete
So from the completion of the frame on 11th of November, the builders have today completed the brickwork, so thats just under a month, of which they worked about 2 weeks solid due to rain delays etc.
The builders have even done a partial clean of the interior.
So from what we've been told the brick cleaners are on site next week and then the downpipes etc will go on around the same time as the roof, hopefully all before Christmas depending of the wild sydney weather.

Bricks, bricks and more bricks
So someone pointed out that we'd not posted any pictures with bricks going up as of yet, so here they are.
Front of house, pillars growing and window surrounds.
Two sides of the same wall.
Rear of house.
Then one day later, more bricks....
Same shot one day later....
Right wall of garage.
Rear of study and pier from the alfresco.
And then the wife snapped this on her way past today....
Onwards and upwards as they say.........
